I feel very lucky I was chosen to photograph Shea & Shane's wedding. They brought me on in Fall of 2019 in preparation of having a fall of 2020 wedding. Things changed quickly with the COVID-19 pandemic taking the reigns of their plans. Venues fell through. Vendors fell through. Plans crumbled. They stayed strong and made the best of the situation and pushed their wedding until 2021.
Fortunately Shea & Shane were able to secure the Unitarian Society of Santa Barbara for their wedding ceremony and reception on a foggy October afternoon. It couldn't have been much more nostalgic, as Shea's parents wed there over 30 years prior. The venue was accented by a beautiful combination of muted and bright floral tones by PacWest Blooms of Carpinteria. Savoire Faire Catering provided a delicious, buffet style barbecue dinner that was rich with flavor.
Being positioned right across from Alice Keck Park, we were able to venture across the street to photograph incredible natural light family photos and beautiful bridal portraits. After the hustle and bustle of cocktail hour with family portraits, Shea & Shane spent the rest of the evening celebrating with family & friends. Groomsmen recalled embarrassing stories of Shane, and bridesmaids reminisced about their friendship with Shea. We danced the rest of the night away and managed to sneak in a light painting session in a corner of the dance floor!
