I absolutely love to travel for weddings all over Southern California, from the rolling hills of Paso Robles wine country, all the way down the coastline to the shimmering beaches of San Diego. Being a wedding photographer in Southern California is the best because the region is one of the most dynamic and beautiful places to photograph and explore. Lucky for me, Southern California happens to be one of the most sought-after regions in the world to have a destination wedding. Maybe you’ll find a location that meets your fancy based on my descriptions below!
There are so many marvelous places in Southern California to host your wedding. There are the luscious-green rolling hills of San Luis Obispo with the rustic ranch venues that dot the perimeter of the city. San Luis Obispo is also the gateway to the iconic, dramatic, romantic, and very-much elopement worthy cliffs along the Pacific Coast Highway. Other fantastic spots in San Luis Obispo for wedding photography are , Bubblegum Alley, Morrow Rock, and
As you make your way south, down through the sprawling winery venues of the Santa Ynez Valley, you’ll cross over to the crisp ocean-kissed air of Santa Barbara & Goleta. In Santa Barbara you'll find wonderful, Old Spanish style venues with clean white walls and warm tile roofs. Some of my favorite venues in Santa Barbara are , the , the , the , and the .
Further into Southern California you’ll find even more spectacular, romantic wedding venues for wedding photography throughout the Ojai Valley, Ventura, & Thousand Oaks. Some of my favorite wedding venues in Ojai include the , , and the wonderful . Almost all venues in Ojai have absolutely stunning views that provide incredible backdrops that Southern California Wedding Photographers love to utilize to their fullest advantage. In the evening, it isn't uncommon for the Ojai valley to glow an luminous pink as the sun sets and reflects a pinkish hue off the surrounding mountain range.
Travel just a bit further south and you’re in Los Angeles, surrounded by the iconic landmarks of Hollywood, Downtown LA (DTLA), Santa Monica, Venice, Malibu, Bel Aire, & Beverly Hills. This area is perfect if you’re looking for upscale wedding photography at the most romantic and desirable venues like Hummingbird Nest Ranch, Greystone Mansion and many more.
Further inland, you’ll find your inner boho vibes in the Inland Empire & Palm Springs regions. Palm Springs has what many Southern California wedding photographers would describe as “dreamy” desert tones & light that provide the perfect feeling of romance and warmth in your wedding photographs.
